UEFA'nın çok kulüplü kulüp sahipliğine ilişkin kuralları nedeniyle Crystal Palace'ın önümüzdeki sezon Avrupa Ligi'ne katılmasının engellenmesi bekleniyor.
The Case of Crystal Palace
UEFA are yet to determine if
Crystal Palace will be allowed to play in the 2025/26 Europa League!
Crystal Palace are in danger of being kicked out of the 2025/26 Europa League due to a multi-club ownership with
Lyon.
Crystal Palace can not move down to the 2025/26 Conference League due to a multi-club ownership with
Brøndby.
Lyon and
Brøndby would keep their spots due to finishing higher in their domestic leagues.
If Crystal Palace are kicked out:
Nottingham Forest will enter the 2025/26 Europa League.
Brighton will enter the 2025/26 Conference League.
There are no details on when will UEFA provide a final decision, but it's expected by the end of June.
A fair decision would be to keep
Crystal Palace in the 2025/26 Europa League as:
American businessman John Textor holds a 77% stake in Lyon, but only a 43% stake in Palace, with less than 30% of the voting rights.
There is no actual collaboration between Lyon and Crystal Palace, with John Textor also lacking ownership influence in Crystal Palace.
The 1 March deadline to comply with UEFA's requirements makes no sense in the case of Crystal Palace, as they were yet to play Round 5 of the FA Cup.
Crystal Palace secured their spot in the 2025/26 Europa League by winning the FA Cup!
