LIVERPOOL will make a second enquiry for PSG St Germain striker Edinson Cavani.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign a world class striker this summer to replace Luis Suarez, who left Anfield last month to join Barcelona, and has set his eyes on Cavani.
According to German newspaper Bild, Rodgers will make a move for the Uruguayan striker if he fails to sign Monaco striker Radamel Falco.
Cavani's agent Claudio Anelluci revealed last week that Liverpool made an enquiry for his client a month ago, but insisted that the former Napoli star had not made a decision about his future.
He said: “There has been much interest in the player during the last six months.
“I can confirm that Cavani heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal.
"Already said he would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision.”
If the Reds do make a bid for the 27-year-old they will face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.
Cavani's agent confirmed that the Gunners had also made an enquiry for the for the former Palermo striker, and reports last week suggested that Arsene Wenger would make a £51m bid for the Uruguayan hit-man if the club signed Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.
New United boss Louis van Gaal is also keen to sign Cavani this summer, and according to reports, is closely monitoring the striker's situation.
