Having embarked on a managerial career, his first assignment, in March 2005 , is that of consultant for the technical area of Hellas Verona . [2] Having become responsible for the technical area, he ends his relationship with the Scala on 8 September 2006 [3] to join the Juventus staff as chief observer. [4] In March 2008 he was fired by the Juventus club. [5]

In the summer Walter Sabatini takes him to Palermo as his collaborator. He remained in Maurizio Zamparini 's club until 2009 , when on May 18 he assumed the position of sporting director of Novara , [6] after having obtained, the previous month, the diploma in Coverciano , [7] for the qualification to the profession of sports director, with full marks.

With him in the management, the company is brought by the Lega Pro Prima Division to promotion to Serie A , thanks to the victory in the 2010-2011 Serie B play-offs . In April 2010 he had renewed his contract until 2014 . [8]

After having revealed himself to be one of the best sporting directors of the season, [9] on 13 June 2011 he was made official as sporting director of Sampdoria relegated to Serie B. [10] An announcement was also made on May 20 by Novara. [11] His first operation as a Sampdoria manager is to choose Gianluca Atzori as the new coach of the team , [12] who will then be sacked in favor of Giuseppe Iachini , [13]able to lead the team to promotion.
